How do I apply to become a subcontractor?

What qualifications must I have?
We require our contractors to have their own reliable vehicle, professional detailing equipment, and at least two years of experience. All partners must carry active general liability, commercial auto, and workers' compensation insurance. Proof of your Certificate of Insurance (COI) will be requested on the application; without it, you will not be considered for a partnership.
What is the partnership model with Shine Guys?
We are an independent contractor partnership. We handle marketing, client acquisition, and scheduling, while you provide the skilled labor, equipment, and transportation. This allows you to focus solely on detailing. We operate on a 50/50 revenue split for all services, and you keep your half of the earnings along with any tips from customers.
What support and working conditions can I expect?
We provide consistent job opportunities, handle scheduling and customer management, offer competitive pay, and maintain a professional partnership.What are my potential earnings?
Your earnings are directly tied to the services you complete and your efficiency. For our lowest-priced service, The Aura Wash (Small Car/Sedan at $100), your share is $50. If you complete this in 1 hour, your effective hourly rate for that job is $50. Higher-tier packages and add-ons offer significantly higher per-job compensation. Your overall earnings are uncapped and depend on your availability and performance.
Am I responsible for my own taxes?
Yes, as an independent contractor, you are responsible for managing and paying your own federal, state, and local taxes (including self-employment taxes). We will provide you with a 1099-NEC form at the end of the year if your earnings meet IRS thresholds.
Do I need my own equipment and supplies?
Yes, contractors are required to own and provide all necessary professional-grade detailing equipment (e.g., pressure washer, vacuum, buffers, steamers, etc.) and all chemicals/supplies needed to perform all services offered by Shine Guys.
What are the expectations for client interaction and professionalism?
We expect all contractors to maintain the highest level of professionalism: punctuality, respectful communication, a clean appearance, and meticulous care for client vehicles and property. You are the face of our brand, and client satisfaction is paramount.
How will I receive job assignments?
We will assign jobs to you based on your availability, location, and the specific services required. Upon onboarding, you will be given access to a scheduling app. This app serves as a central hub, streamlining all communication, job assignments, and payments between you and the company.
